EAST ANTRIM BATTALION BADMINTON COMPETITION - COMPANY SECTION

On Friday 20th November Aaron Hutton, John Campbell, Andrew Harrison, Stephen Hunter and Jamie Cameron took part in the Battalion Badminton Competition held in Ballyclare High School.

Senior Singles

Aaron narrowly defeated Andrew in the Semi Final 11-8, but lost in the Final to Jonathan Nelson of 4th Carrick 11-7.

Gold: Jonathan Nelson (4th Carrick)

Silver: Aaron Hutton (8th Carrick)

Bronze: Andrew Harrison (8th Carrick)

Senior Doubles

Jamie joined forces with Matthew Audley of 1st Ballyclare. Both boys done very well never having played together before, but were narrowly defeated 9-11 in the Semi Final.

Aaron & John (last years Gold medal winners in the Junior Doubles) teamed up for the Senior Doubles and defeated their buddies Andrew & Stephen in the Semi Final 11-9.

Aaron & John went on to play Jonathan Mees & Ryan McIlwaine (1st Ballyeaston) in the Final, winning 11-4.

Gold: Aaron Hutton & John Campbell (8th Carrick)

Silver: Jonathan Mees & Ryan McIlwaine (1st Ballyeaston)

Bronze: Andrew Harrison & Stephen Hunter (8th Carrick)

Jamie Cameron (8th Carrick) & Matthew Audley (1st Ballyclare)

Overall, 8th Carrick received 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze medals on the night - Well Done boys!

This Competition just keeps getting better. Once again there was an excellent turnout and the standard of play was extremely high with all competitors showing a great standard of sportsmanship.
